What’s the difference between roller skates and roller blades?

Roller skates are also referred to as quad skates, as they have two frames which hold a pair of wheels each. Roller blades have a single frame with 3-5 wheels all inline, which is why they are commonly known as inline skates. At Puck Stop we only sell inline skates.

Is it harder to rollerblade or rollerskate?

The wider positioning of the wheels on roller skates provides more stability and they are a popular choice for beginners to skating. Roller blades are built for speed but they are still beginner friendly, with entry-level inline skates including a brake to give you more control.

3 wheel vs 4 wheel inline skates - which is better?

For general rollerblading, 3 wheel inline skates will help you achieve faster speeds more easily. For inline hockey 4 wheel skates are the standard, as they provide better stability with a more even weight distribution and fewer gaps between each wheel. 4 wheel hockey skates give you maximum control during sharp manoeuvres.
