What gear do I need to be a hockey goalie?

As a goalie you’ll wear much more equipment than other players to protect you from head to toe. Core goalie equipment includes Leg Pads, a Catcher and Blocker, Goalie Mask, Chest and Arm Protector, and Padded Hockey Goalie Pants.

You’ll also want accessories for added protection such as a Throat Protector, Knee Pads, and a Goalie Jock.

Goalie Sticks and Goalie Skates are also specialised to the position and offer improved performance over regular player equipment.
