GB win Gold and promotion!
Great Britain secure their return to ice hockey's elite level for the first time since 1994 with victory over Hungary!
Only needing a point to secure promotion, GB left it late to snatch the tying goal with 15 seconds remaining in the game. Hosts Hungary were leading 2-0 in the third period before Robert Dowd pulled one back to set up a frantic finish.
Following a timeout, and Bownsy pulled for an extra skater, Robert Farmer stepped up and equalised with 15 seconds of regulation remaining for that all important point which was enough to secure gold and promotion.
Next year GB will be facing off against the likes of Canada, Sweden, USA, Russia to name a few in the elite division.
From 6th seed, to gold medal and champions, today will surely go down as one of the biggest nights of British Hockey!
Massive congratulations to all the players, coaches, staff and travelling fans, you've been amazing this week!
